Trump WH Makes HUGE Announcement on 2nd Amendment and Police

via The Federalist Papers

President Donald Trump has shown his promise to uphold the Second Amendment with a simple statement on the revamped WhiteHouse.gov website.

With the title: “Standing Up For Our Law Enforcement Community,” Trump began by pledging to give law enforcement every tool they need to do their job.

One of the fundamental rights of every American is to live in a safe community. A Trump Administration will empower our law enforcement officers to do their jobs and keep our streets free of crime and violence. The Trump Administration will be a law and order administration. President Trump will honor our men and women in uniform and will support their mission of protecting the public. The dangerous anti-police atmosphere in America is wrong. The Trump Administration will end it.

Further down is where citizens come in – and citizens right to keep and bear arms as part of a law and order society:

Supporting law enforcement means supporting our citizens’ ability to protect themselves. We will uphold Americans’ Second Amendment rights at every level of our judicial system.”

The National Rifle Association was Trump’s largest financial supporter during the campaign. Trump made a pledge on October 9 to preserve the Second Amendment from “people like Hillary Clinton.” Here is what he said during a presidential debate:

I am looking to appoint judges very much in the mold of Justice Scalia… People that will respect the constitution of the United States. And I think that this is so important–also, the Second Amendment which is totally under siege by people like Hillary Clinton.

Just Wednesday morning, he announced he would pick the replacement for Scalia by next week.
